Hazard modeling software supports planners and responders in estimating the impacts and vulnerabilities of a range of hazards. EmerGeo's hazard models are designed to be very easy and quick for a first responder and non-technical emergency planners' use.

We currently offer three geospatial hazard models that include two methods for estimating the extent of hazardous materials releases (plume models) and an earthquake MMI/PGA ("shake") model. These models are add-on modules ("plug-ins") to the EmerGeo Smart Client software. A hazard vulnerability model can also be purchased to assess the impact of multiple hazards on people, property and the environment.

EmerGeo Hazard Models can be purchased as a complete integrated suite of damage estimation models or purchased and installed separately in one or more EmerGeo Smart Client packages.

EmerGeo Hazmat interfaces

EmerGeo offers a pair of Hazmat interfaces for plotting geo-referenced plumes and evacuation areas: one uses outputs ("footprints") generated by ALOHA™ plume model and the other uses a built-in version of the North American Emergency Response Guidebook 2008 (ERG2008™) to generate isolation and protection distances. These two models are not sold separately and work with your own GIS data or third-party map data.

EmerGeo earthquake model

EmerGeoThe earthquake model is designed to produce outputs very quickly and requires minimal training. The model produces maps of Modified Mercalli Index (MMI) and Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) used to predict damage areas and to help decision makers plan deployments of response resources. This model requires one or more soil map layers in order to operate.
