Sudbury Selects EmerGeo and WebEOC for New EOC
Crisis management and mapping software to power new state-of-the-art Emergency Operation Centre in Canada.

VANCOUVER B.C. – EmerGeo Solutions announced today that the City of Greater Sudbury (Ontario) has selected the EmerGeo and WebEOC software applications for its new Emergency Operation Centre after a formal RFP public tender process.
“We evaluated other emergency management software and suppliers but EmerGeo Solutions Inc. was the clear choice,” stated Tim Beadman, Acting General Manager of Emergency Services. “The WebEOC crisis management and EmerGeo mapping software is a Virtual EOC system that will provide City staff and our partner agencies with real-time status information on emergency events and resources, regardless of whether we are sitting in the EOC or connected by secure wireless internet connection”, states Tim Beadman, Acting General Manager of Emergency Services.
Sudbury engaged the services of ESi, developers of the WebEOC software, to design a state-of-the-art EOC which consists of a Command Room and four (4) Team Rooms. The EOC has integrated phones, radios, computers, cameras, television feed, and centralized display systems. The EOC has emergency backup power capable of operating the heating, lighting, and communication equipment for the entire EOC during a power failure.
